The Environmental Protection Agency's proposal of a "Cow Tax" in order to regulate greenhouse gas emissions will hurt the American farm industry more then it will help the environment, according to American Farmers.

Video: The First Carbon-Neutral City

The oil-rich Persian Gulf state of Abu Dhabi has begun constructing Masdar, the worlds first carbon-neutral city. The size 3.7-square-mile project is pegged for completion by 2009 and it's results will be examined carefully by the rest of the world.

Experts predict that long-term health costs associated with smog will be reduced for residents of this future metropolis which will host no cars within city limits and all of the city's energy will be provided by the sun and wind.

Also eager to make their marks in the race to carbon-neutrality, the governments of Costa Rica, Norway, and Libya have announced state-sponsored plans for development.

Cheap Gas = Death of Green?

Caterpillar International and Toyota both brought bad news today. Oil prices are off 70% from their $147 peak in July. Eight months ago, any yegg with the ability to execute a financial transaction was a genius, but the bubble that burst in Q4 was the result of 8 years of Bush economic policy that can be summed up thus: reckless deregulation.
