Kathy Griffin Is Not Nor Has She Ever Been Funny

I, like you, watched the CNN reference to this thing called Kathy Griffin. A lass who decided that reality's no match for plastic surgery.

Seems that Kathy on CNN's New Year's Eve coverage, whilst feigning expression, alongside her co-"host" Anderson Cooper of CNNdom, shouted something naughty while situated with said Cooper. Wow. Imagine that. Griffin, known for her being obstreperous, somehow slipped through the propriety cracks and uttered a naughty.

Praise be to Ms. Griffin. Were it not for her utterance, no one would have noticed.

Oh Governor Blagojevich, thank you for making the year end so interesting...

It doesn't get much better than this if you're looking for news to fill a quiet cycle, but boy if you're in the democratic leadership you're already suffering from a new year hangover.

Nancy Skinner is no stranger to Illinois Politics. She's been in there with all the key players in this ever evolving drama. (photo below taken at a Unity Breakfast the morning after the Presidential Election). Today on the Show, She'll ask Howard Dean to react to Governor Blagojevich's appointment yesterday of long-time Illinois Politician, Roland Burris. In the second hour she'll check in with Mick Dumke from the Chicago Reader, a man absolutely familiar with Chicago politics. And then, if we can drag ourselves away from the juice of this story we'll be looking at the year that's been and Bush's legacy.

David Knowles, reporter for AOL's Political Machine joins us to discuss Five Resolutions he thinks the Republicans need to make in 2009. The Huffington Post's Jason Linkins is on the show too, and we'll check in with Rabbi Michael Lerner, Editor of Tikkun Magazine, to reflect on the situation in the Middle East.

Stephanie recently wrote a piece entitled "Let The Big Three Die" - a sentiment which Nancy Skinner doesn't exactly sympathize with. Aural fists will fly.
