U.S. employers cut workers from their payrolls for the sixth straight month
in June for the longest losing employment streak since 2002, government data on
Thursday showed.

A separate report showed new applications for jobless benefits hurdling to
404,000, suggesting further weakness ahead for employment.

Jobs...

During the first recession of dubya's, I was teetering between being un-employed and travelling for work. It SUCKED, big time! I lost my little house because of it....and that was when the cost of living was somewhat stable.

During this recession, I am still (thankfully) employed, but hubby and I are looking for a cheaper place than where we now live to rent. (We're paying house payment sized rent right now) We're trying to save for another house, but also, should the work disappear, we will still be able to afford the rent on unemployment. Just because there is work here now, doesn't mean it'll be here tomorrow.

Thank you, dubya, for the policies that created the conditions that we find ourselves dealing with today! Heck of a job!
